Dry Mouth makes music for the overstimulated, the underwhelmed, the terminally online, and the perpetually confused. It’s loud. It’s hazy. It’s like trying to scream underwater. Imagine standing in a bar with a broken neon sign, wondering if the band on stage is playing a song or just tuning. We have all the makings of a good show: feedback, questionable smells, and a guy in the back having a religious experience. Plus we got a drummer that hit like a debt collector. “I came here to forget my problems, somehow I left with more.” - Some guy in the front row, probably. “They played the same riff for 10 minutes. I thought they were building up to something. Turns out, that was it.” - The other guy in the front row, probably. “Which one are you?” - Jake’s mom. If you feel like the walls are closing in and you need an escape congrats, you’re in the right place. Ultimately, we don’t know where this is going, we just know it’s getting louder.

Stripped back and unhurried, his music lives in the small moments, offering something honest, reflective, and real, songs that do not ask for attention but stay with you long after they are gone.

Music is a universal language—a beautiful idea but too big of an assumption. Pepe uses the stage as a laboratory to test this provocative hypothesis. By pushing the boundaries of Spanish and English, Pepe collides lyrics on top of Mexico City Folk. Caeteris paribus, that is, all things being equal, we should be able to communicate through music, regardless of the language.
Colorado’s own Xicanxbeat Orchestra, Pink Hawks span a gamut of Afro-diasporic musical styles in an undeniably #oldDenver way.
