Colorado’s own Xicanxbeat Orchestra, Pink Hawks span a gamut of Afro-diasporic musical styles in an undeniably #oldDenver way. That being said, it comes as no surprise that they are one of Denver’s longest standing musical acts, hailing from 2007, whose honors include Best of Denver Awards for World Music in 2013 and 2014 as well as the distinguished Mastermind Award in 2019 from Westword Magazine.
Their newest single, “Elote” narrates the struggle between the elotero (working-class) and the battle for the legality one’s humanity on stolen land, through a cumbia/merengue infused sonic-scape. It is a donation-based track with all proceeds benefiting Casa de Paz, a Denver organization that reunites families separated by immigrant detention, one simple act of love at a time.
Using music as their weapon for political disruption, los Pink Hawks will set any dance floor on fire with rhythms of the revolution.

DOGTAGS is a queer soul/jazz collective based out of Denver, CO. Built around the real-life relationship of founders Regi Worles and Michael Merola, DOGTAGS embodies friendship, community & acceptance through their vibrantly evocative music. The group exists as an ever-changing array of collaborators and friends who join Worles and Merola, making every DOGTAGS gig a once-in a lifetime collaboration - a case of the “you just had to be there,” intensified by the group’s formidable musicianship, Worles’ ravenous vocals, and a higher purpose to foster connection in a world increasing becoming disconnected. At a DOGTAGS show, no one is a stranger, but everyone is a friend.
To date, the group has played Endless Sunshine, Crosscurrents, Oktoberfest, The Underground Music Showcase, sold-out Lost Lake and have opened for the likes of Lake Street Dive, Thee Sacred Souls, Teddy Swims, Slum Village and more. DOGTAGS released their much-anticipated debut project, ROSEWORLD, in 2025. Preceded by singles, "keepsake" and "sumn bout roses" is an alternative-soul, jazz, R&B & post-pop collection serving as a proper introduction to the newest dogs on the scene. A blend of Omar Apollo’s poignant songwriting and expansive pop production, Remi Wolf’s soulful grit and powerful vocals, and the classic, playful band sound of Steely Dan, DOGTAGS is a bright, optimistic vision of what soul and love can become when they are allowed to thrive.

Glass Human is a Denver based art rock band known for their emotionally charged soundscapes that shift between haunting minimalism and explosive catharsis. Joan Paolo blends soulful vocals, jazzy guitar licks, and funky pocket rhythms to form what we call neo soul-R&B funk. Katie Yeager (she/he/they) is a lot of things. Queer, genderfluid, a fan, a traveler, a coffee-and-dog-lover, a friend. These identities all come to a head in their identity as a Denver-born singer/songwriter. Part journal entries/part fan fiction, Katie's songs embody lived heartbreak and imagined joy. Her pop/folk style is influenced by the soundtrack of her life: his parents’ 60s/70s-era Greatest Hits CDs and their enduring love of modern pop artists like Harry Styles.

Liquid Chicken is a Denver-based band carving out a name in the city’s underground scene with a sound that refuses to sit still. Formed in 2021 by a group of college friends, the band cut their teeth playing house parties before expanding into local venues across Denver, building a reputation for high-energy sets and unpredictable performances.
Drawing inspiration from iconic ‘90s acts like Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, and Weezer, Liquid Chicken blends elements of grunge, funk, alt-rock, and whatever else fits the moment. No two songs sound the same — and that’s the point. Their music swings between raw and melodic, chaotic and tight, always grounded in a live-first mentality that translates directly to the stage.
Whether they’re playing a packed basement or a local venue, Liquid Chicken delivers a sound that’s both nostalgic and completely their own, capturing the spirit of a band that grew up together and isn’t interested in staying in one lane.

Having grown up in a musical household in Rockville, Maryland, Lu began her musical career with classical piano and voice. It wasn't until her later years in high school, and early years in college that she began to experiment with song writing. With her love for the indie genre, Lu was able to incorporate the experimental and indie sounds in her music, thus creating her first singles, Sour (Demo) and Plant Tattoo (Demo) from her album, Seven Corners; released in the year 2020.
Since its release, "Seven Corners" has been a favorite among many. It has been considered "an utterly stunning debut album, filled to the brim with artistic talent and velocity"

Perc Ens is a minimalism percussion ensemble. Inspired by composers like Steve Reich, Julius Eastman, and Terry Riley, Perc Ens performs intense, often-acoustic compositions and improvisations. Their live performance has many iterations, including perchance marimba, lights, drum set, hand percussion, sermon, or toy piano, all played to showcase the melody, rhythm, and timbre of each thing. Riding a pendulum between composition and improvisation, Perc Ens achieves moments of flourished epiphany juxtaposed against droning repetition, like a tacitly humble solo shaker.

SeFa means “delight” in Turkish. LoCo means “mad” in Spanish. “SeFa LoCo” also combines the opening letters of the names of this group’s members. A free improvisation supergroup from the Rocky Mountain region, this quartet links the talents of accomplished musicians from Colorado and Wyoming. Percussionist extraordinaire Ron Coulter formed the band in 2021, Since then they’ve been prolific, releasing seven albums on Right Brain Records, many of which feature guest musicians that bring unique talents and perspectives.

STIL RUNNIN is a hard rock band based in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Living, breathing revitalization of Rock n Roll. Together, they possess the stage presence and a sound like no other. Vocalist, Will Given has vocal chords of steel and will blow you away with the power of his voice. Lead guitarist, Carson Freng, will melt your face off with his outrageous and intricate solos. Austin Lohrli, the face of the bass, keeps it grooving through his thunderous riffs as he propels STIL RUNNIN’s heartbeat. Last, but surely not least, drummer Josh Langhorne, fueling STIL RUNNIN’s fire with relentless beats as he drives their Rock N Roll spirit. Their electrifying performances and infectious energy is quickly solidifying them as a force to be reckoned with.

The Heavy Twelves is a Denver-based band formed by California native DJ Egadz, who first fell in love with the city's music scene while passing through on tour in 2009. That visit led him to the Baker neighborhood, where he put down roots and became a familiar face at venues including High Dive (co-hosting a monthly night with Sole of Anticon and Pictureplane of Rhinoceropolis), as well as venues like Cervantes and The Fox Theatre.
After a stint back in Los Angeles working with SnakeFoot and John Pain, Egadz formed The Heavy Twelves. The band quickly gained momentum before playing its last show in January 2020, just weeks before the pandemic.
In the years following, Egadz endured some challenging life events, but all the while fantasized about moving back to Denver and returning to music. Egadz is now back in Baker, and is bringing the band together for their first show since January 2020 in the form of a porch party at the Blucifer Festival.
"I just couldn't resist the opportunity to contribute to an event in the neighborhood that I always thought was so special."
